Sustainability at Oneway<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At Oneway, sustainability has been an important focus for over fifteen years. In the choices we make, we always look for the most responsible option, both in daily operations and in long-term decisions. This starts with practical steps, such as waste separation and eliminating plastic from our shipping process. At the same time, we also think bigger. Our headquarters, built in 2021, was designed with sustainability in mind from the very beginning, with careful consideration given to every detail. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Our building<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When developing our office in Rotterdam, sustainability played a key role throughout the entire process. Wood is used extensively in the interior, and the building\u2019s outer structure is largely constructed from timber. Many of the materials used are reusable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A move to a new office often leads to replacing furniture. Instead, we chose to refurbish and reuse what we already had. For example, all office chairs were repaired and reused, avoiding unnecessary waste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also looked closely at how we could reuse materials in the interior. The desktops in our office are made from recycled materials, meaning no new wood was required. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

1,300 solar panels<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our building is fully gas-free. Heating is provided by a heat pump system, supplying warm water for underfloor heating in the office and heating in the warehouse. Modern climate systems regulate each space individually, preventing unnecessary energy use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All electricity needed for heating and daily operations is generated by more than 1,300 solar panels on the roof. On sunny days, this produces enough energy to power over 400 households. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this, the building has achieved an A+++++ energy rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainable packaging<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While our products support sustainable mobility, they still need to be packaged safely for transport. That is why we have taken a close look at our packaging process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have removed plastic from our shipping wherever possible. Different box sizes ensure products fit efficiently, reducing the need for filler material. When filling is required, we use paper instead of plastic. Plastic tape has also been replaced with paper-based alternatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With more than 15,000 parcels leaving our warehouse each month, pallets play an essential role. We mainly use EURO pallets, which are continuously reused within the logistics process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cycle Friendly Employer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On 23 May 2022, we received the Bike-Friendly Company certification. As a company in the cycling industry, we believe it is important to encourage our employees to cycle more often. That is why we offer various facilities to make this as easy and appealing as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fewer cars on the road contribute directly to a better environment. At the same time, cycling employees are often healthier, fitter and more energised. They arrive at work with a clear mind, tend to be more productive and are less likely to be absent due to illness. In short, it benefits both our people and the environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
